Data and purpose

We process your Shopify shop domain, installation and billing status, access tokens, selected product and variant data, readable product metafields, theme files, saved test scenarios, snapshots and integrity reports. We use these to authenticate the app, run your selected checks, show differences and enforce plan limits. Storefront passwords are encrypted at rest.

Recent order line IDs, variant IDs, customization keys and original unit prices are inspected to find mismatches. We do not request customer names, addresses, phone numbers or emails. Order property values are checked in memory and are not saved. Order and line identifiers in saved findings still relate to the customer. Shopify customer data requests create an authenticated merchant export of matching records; customer redaction requests remove matching findings. Test cart properties and theme snapshots may contain information you enter: use synthetic values and avoid personal or sensitive data in scenarios.

Legal bases and sharing

We process store configuration to perform our agreement with the merchant and protect the service. We use Shopify for platform APIs and billing, and our hosting infrastructure to run and store the app. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Store data is isolated by authenticated shop domain. Data is processed on our app-host infrastructure; processing may occur outside your country. Contact us for questions about subprocessors or transfer safeguards before installing.

Retention and deletion

We retain snapshots and reports while the app remains installed so you can compare versions. Uninstall revokes sessions and disables monitoring. Shopify’s shop/redact request deletes the store’s app records, normally within Shopify’s 48-hour uninstall workflow. Contact support to request an earlier deletion or a copy of your store records. Exports are available in the app before uninstalling. Diagnostic logs contain no access tokens or customer payloads; temporary browser contexts close after every test.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, export, restriction or deletion through support. We act as the merchant’s service provider for store information; customers should contact their merchant. Mandatory Shopify data-request and redaction webhooks are supported. No customer contact database is maintained by OptionGuard; order identifiers are handled as customer-related records. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies and changes

Authentication uses essential Shopify session mechanisms. Isolated browser checks use temporary storefront cookies. The public landing page uses no advertising trackers. We update this policy when processing changes and show the effective date here.
